We play every Monday from 6:00 – 8:30pm

We also play every Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00pm.

Next tournament is April 14th, 2018 beginning at 10am.  It’s $15 and information is below, just scroll down a bit on the home page or come sign up at an open play session. Ignore the registration deadline.

Round Robin Tournament – April 14th, 2018 @ 10am

–Only 24 players will be accepted

Stage 1: Preliminary: Groups of 3-6 participants will play each other in a match as they compete to make it to stage 2. (Matches for first two stages are best of 5 games, all games are to 11 points).

Stage 2: Based on playing records in the preliminary round, the top 3 players from each group will be placed in Division A, B, or C. Players grouped in these 3 divisions play each other in a match to complete this round.

Stage 3: This will be the finals where the two competitors with the best match record from each division in Stage 2 play a match, best of 7 games.

Prizes: Planning on having a trophy and t-shirt for the winner of each division.

Start Time: Saturday, April 14th, 2018 @ 10am (Should be finished some time after 2:00pm)

Deadline for Registration: March 30th, 2018

Event Fee: $15

All entry forms that are not accompanied with the $15 event fee will not be accepted.  You may mail the form to the address listed on the form, or you may submit your entry form and event fee in person at one of our regularly scheduled open play sessions.

Equipment: Rackets must be USATT approved. One side of the racket must be bright red, the other side black. DHS D40+ 3 star balls will be used for all events

Clothing: The main color of the body of the shirt or shorts may not be white. Please dress in appropriate athletic attire. Designs or lettering that are distracting to an opponent or are offensive will not be permitted. Socks and rubber-soled, non-marking, shoes must be worn.

Umpire: Umpire for your match will be provided if requested.

Cancellation: The organizer reserves the right to cancel the tournament or modify the format based on the number of entries.

Practice: Opening up for practice at 9:15am

You have to make an Rec1 account to register online. It only takes a couple minutes. You may also register on the day of the tournament by arriving before 9:45am. Tournament will begin at 10:00am. Good Luck!

—Please take note that we are expanding our Tuesday Training hours with the session now running from 6:00-8:30pm.

—The 2nd Athens Georgia Table Tennis Round Robin Tournament will be on 1/13/2018 @ East Athens Community Center.  The entry fee is $10 for Athens-Clarke County (ACC) residents and the fee is $15 for non-ACC residents.

Now that our host facility is back in good order, we will resume regularly scheduled open play sessions @ East Athens Community Center.

Tuesdays: 6:30-8:30pm

Saturdays: 1:00-4:00pm

Lots of good quality practice balls and loaner paddles available for visitors.

Our host facility, East Athens Community Center, will be shut down for renovations until November 28th.  Let’s call it a “Thanksgiving Break” and come back with renewed energy in a few weeks! Normal Tuesday and Saturday Open play sessions will resume 11/28/2017, so we can all work off the turkey and pumpkin pie. This page will be updated with a link to the registration page when it is set up. There will be a round robin format tournament at East Athens Community Center September 9th, 2017.  Details are still in the works, but all entrants will be guaranteed 4 matches and the entry fee is expected to be $10. As long as we have plenty of entries, there will be a novice division and open division. Prizes have not yet been determined outside of providing a trophy to the winner of each division. There should be 3 – 4 tables with regulation height nets in a well lit gym and we will be using the DHS D40+ ball for tournament
